Our Grief & Bereavement programs are proudly supported by the United Way and the Community Health Boards of Along the Shore, Truro, East Hants and South Colchester.
Often the emotional pain and stresses associated with advancing illness or death are as difficult to overcome as physical symptoms. Hospice offers a wide range of compassionate and helpful support services for individuals and families facing death and loss.

Support Services

Grief Support Walking Groups
Join our volunteers and others who are grieving for a chance to walk and talk. Walks are drop-in and led by trained volunteers. In cold or inclement weather the group will meet and share in other activities. Check our calendar of upcoming events for the next walk in your area.

Grief Follow-Up & Friendly Supports
After the death of a loved one Hospice offers ongoing support through friendly monthly calls, mailings, and grief books. Referrals are made by the palliative team or individuals can self-refer.

Grief Support Groups
Six week support groups of approximately 10 people. Grief groups provide a safe, supportive healing environment for bereaved individuals to process their grief in a meaningful way. If you are interested in joining a Grief Support Group, contact the Hospice office.

One on One & Family Support
Professional staff are available to provide grief counselling with individual or family needs exceed what we are able to address in other programs. Individuals can be referred through a health care professional or they can self-refer by contacting us.

Services of Remembrance
Each winter and late spring Hospice hosts services around the region to provide an opportunity for families, the Palliative Team, and other health care providers to remember the individuals who have died on the Palliative Program. Check our calendar of upcoming events for our next services.
