Colchester East Hants Hospice Society provides care and support to families as they face serious illness, death and grief. Hospice volunteers and professionals work closely with the Palliative Care team under a philosophy of care that values quality of life until death and in putting the patient at the centre and in control of his or her own life and care.
Most hospice-palliative care is given in the home, with a family member or members serving as the main hands-on caregiver, however the care can be given in any setting including the hospital, a nursing home, and hopefully in the future, in a residential hospice.
